Scaling adjusts the rendering resolution for optimal print or display quality.
PDF vectors, text, and lines become pixels during rasterization. Enlarging an exported image later cannot restore vector sharpness, so select the scale before conversion and inspect small labels in the result.
PNG is lossless and usually suits text, diagrams, or interface screenshots. JPG compresses photo-heavy pages more efficiently but may introduce artifacts around fine lettering; the source PDF itself is not edited.

Is it safe to convert PDFs online?
PDF.js rasterizes each selected page to a local canvas, then the browser encodes PNG or JPEG files. Neither the PDF nor rendered pixels are submitted to a conversion server during normal use.
What’s the difference between PNG and JPG?
PNG uses lossless compression and usually keeps text or diagrams sharper. JPG can produce smaller files for photo-heavy pages, but compression may soften small type.
Can I convert password-protected PDFs?
No. PDF.js needs readable page content before it can rasterize anything. Remove protection with an authorized application first, then render the unlocked copy.
